Jeanette Embree, C.D., NCMG.
Owner, nationally certified master groomer.

 

    Jeanette is the owner of A Royal Touch.  Jeanette is an Internationally Certified Master Groomer.  This means she has completed Written and Practical Exams and been judged by an international certifying body.  Testing included grooming a variety of breeds and gruelling written exams including but not limited to Breed Identification, Health, Anatomy, Breed History, Skin Problems, Infestations and much more.

    Competitive Grooming wins include Poodles, Wheaten Terriers and Mixed Breed Teddy Bears.  Jeanette has been grooming for fourteen years and her favourite grooms include Teddy Bear trims, breed clips and patterns.  Her very favourite breeds are Pomeranian, Chihuahua, Papillon, Eskimo and Sheltie.  Jeanette has been a columnist for the K-9 Chronicles in Edmonton and was a regular guest on QR77 Radio's Pet Show with Robert Church.  Look for her Grooming Demonstrations on Television's "PetGuys".  Other Career highlights include being a founding member and Past President of the Alberta Dog Groomers' Association. 

    What does the 'C.D.' stand for?  "The Canadian Forces Decoration is awarded to officers and men of the Canadian Forces who have completed twelve years of service. The medal is awarded to all ranks, who must have a good record of conduct during the final eight years of claimed service." With regular force service (PPCLI Band, Calgary) in her past, Jeanette is currently still serving as a Petty Officer Second Class with H.M.C.S. Tecumseh in Calgary. Yup, Jeanette's IN THE NAVY  NOW!

 

 

Brigette Rawlings (nee Wingert), B.CUL, Professional Groomer
 

    Brigette Rawlings started her journey in the great City of Calgary and traveled across Canada in her youth, stopping in Manitoba to get a Culinary of Arts and Business Degree.  Eventually making her way back home to the city working in the Bar and Restaurant Business, where after 15 years owned and successfully operated her own pub.   After a bitter taste of the industry she followed her heart to be a groomer. Owning her own “Bich-tzus” she specialized in small dogs especially Bichons and loves Teddy Bear Cuts on well maintained dogs.

The journey to this point has been a long one however working with Jeanette at A Royal Touch has been a great experience consistently working and learning from a wonderful teacher and person.  I look forward to many years here!

 

 

 

 

Our Prep team, Sarah White and Ashley Dreger, whom to this date have NOT provided yours truly with a photo.

Sarah has been with us for over a year and is happily learning to groom.  She moved into our salon and into our hearts then quickly became part of our family.  She is an awesome person and has recently become engaged!

Ashley is relatively new to us but is one heck of a bather and a neat, quirky person which makes her fit in perfectly.  We look forward to a long working relationship with her.  She loves Peanut Butter :)
