How Much ?

Can it be Today?

These are the most common questions we get over the telephone.

BEFORE you ask if we know what we are doing?  Tsk tsk.  Would you shop for a daycare like this?

Take anyone who is cheap and convenient?

Here are a few questions we recommend ...

Remember...you are trusting someone with the welfare of your beloved pet.  This is NOT the time to bargain hunt, you will get what you pay for.  Take your time, ask lots of questions.  Book well in advance.

Ensure your groomer has enough time with your pet to be thorough and attentive.

Please Consider:

 1) A groomer is an essential element for maintaining the comfort, health and beauty of your pet; he or she can be a great asset to your animal's welfare.

2) Pet grooming is not a licensed vocation. Anyone can claim to be a groomer; therefore, it is important to get a referral. Check with neighbors who own pets, your vet and the Yellow Pages.

3) Check to be sure that a potential groomer has some certification from a grooming school or organization. In areas that require licensure, ask for proof of the license.

4) The pet grooming industry has exploded, providing a vast array of locations:

bulletGrooming salons

bulletPet stores

bullet Veterinarian's offices

bulletMobile vans

bulletHouse calls

5) Choose the option that best serves your requirements -- convenience, medical attention, advanced styling, extra patience and handlingIf your animal is over eight years old or has medical problems (such as a heart condition), try to find a veterinarian who offers grooming services.

6) To protect the health of your pet, make sure the groomer and grooming area are clean.  (Keep in mind any salon will have hair on the floor!!)

7) Be sure that the groomer carries liability insurance in the event that your pet is injured at the groomer's or on your premises.

8) Get a referral from the a Dog Groomers Association.
