CRUELTY-FREE POLICY
A Royal Touch is proud to be the only salon city-wide with a publicly stated cruelty-free policy. We have taken alot of flack for this from people who plainly are mistaking our intentions.
We are not trying to be bossy or arrogant instead we are plainly stating what we will and will not do at our salon and giving you the dog owner the opportunity to make an educated decision
about who will groom your pet. We have a gigantic viewing window where you can watch pets being groomed so we welcome anyone to pop by and see what's grooming at A Royal Touch!
What is a Cruelty-free Policy? What does it mean for your dog?
We will not, under any circumstances, cause pain to your dog. This means:
If your dog's hair is matted to the point where it cannot be humanely brushed out, it will have to be shaved.
If your dog has an ear infection, we will not pluck his ears. This dog should be under veterinary care and the vet can do this for you minimizing the complications or perhaps using a sedative to make the dog more comfortable.
If your dog has impacted anal glands we will not expel his glands. Once again, a pet with gland issues should be under medical care.
If your dog has collapsed trachea we will not use restraints. If the pet requires two groomers because of this there will be an extra handling fee.
If your dog has a nervous disorder we will NOT rush his clip. Time, patience and understand are the best for this pet.
If your dog is arthritic we will NOT hold his legs in positions which are painful for his joints. This may compromise the quality of your trim.
If your dog is ill or stressed we will NOT push him over the edge into a seizure looking for a perfect finish. When your pet is at risk, we go for clean and comfortable, not perfect.
We cannot groom faces of animals with infected teeth and gums.
We will not under any circumstances administer sedatives of any kind.
We are NOT qualified for expression of boils and sebaceous conditions.
At A Royal Touch our staff are comitted to a 'pet's first' grooming atmoshphere. We will at all times put the pet's welfare first. That is our customer service commitment to you!
